hi  people! here's my problem.
I had working an small wireless and wired local net using a Lynksys WRT 300N router and a speed touch ADSL modem to internet. with 7 or 8 computers.
Now I've moved and my ISP installed a new modem router ZXL DSL 831C11 with four wired 10/100Base-T Ethernet interfaces, when i connect directly, wired it works fine but when i try to install my wireless router it do'snt work.
I've tried to install it as before (fixed IP), configured it with the new IP, subnet mask and gateway addresses as instructed in the users manual but dont work, all the computers get the radio signal with a good level but dont get access to internet...

The only way to MAKE it work somehow is connecting the modem to the router's ethernet port instead of the internet (blue) port, but in that case the other three wired ports of the modem and wireless router wont work, so only works the wireless part.
I've tried configuring the wireless router as automatic configuration DHCP using the internet (blue) port, but didnt work either.

any ideas?

In general, you do NOT use the WAN (Internet) port on a second router.

When using two neuters TOGETHER, or modem and router, the second device does not do DHCP. Only the first device, modem, the device close to the external network. Some few exceptions.

Modem/router and the other router must not have the same IP in the local network.  You set the second router to have a higher address if the modem is using the lower address of the subset. But not a problem if the modem has a high address.

Example:
Modem has 192.168.1.1 so set the other router to 192.168.1.20 or whatever works. Don't forget the address. You need it later.Thanks for your answer.

When the modem ZXL is alone it can work with 4  PCs OK. It works as gateway 192.168.1.1 and gives 192.168.1.2/..4 I only need 3 wired PCs
the rest were  wireless connected to the lynksys.
I will try to do as you suggested.
