Solve : my wireless problems?

Answer»

My grandma has a desktp with windows xp and has a DIAL up connection.I have a wifi router.I hooked up the router to her ethernet port in the desktop. and i TRIED to bridge the connecions and it said there has to be two high speed internet connections and not shared by internet connection sharing. it did not work. and none of the connections were shared. so i tried ics and that turned the internet icon on the wifi router. so i got my LAPTOP out and connected and there was no internet. Oh and here house is out in the country so there is only dial up (she has 'People Pc') Here desktop is a dell with xp media center edition service pack 3 . my laptop is a toshiba stilite with windows 7 home premium 64 bit. the router is a belkin G wireless roter. You need a 4 port wireless router and save the inconveniences. No need to bridge any connection. Configure network settings on dell desktop by unticking dial-up settings and use automatic configurations. If I have READ every thing right you are wanting to set up a wireless router for a "dial up" connection.

Does the router support this? If it did I imagine it would be painfully slow.

Maybe you need to purchase something like the below and just dial in directly with your laptop.

Windows should quickly recover network and request any necessary security settings: I think you can use the first time.
