I have just recieved an older laptop dell about 3 years old and have installed netgear WIRELESS card. my daughter currently has a new laptop HP and she is already connected to our home wireless INTERNET PROVIDER thru a linskys router. when I try to logon to the internet thru my netgear it says that I have high and then low connectivity but it never lets me actually connect. I am not sure what to do as this networking thing is new to me. Can someone please help. Also my main computer is hooked up to a high speed connection. What linksys router (model, written on it)? What netgear wireless card? (model)
You are using 802.11b or g? (See in router settings)
Using cable between your computer and router you are able to connect to internet?
Your main computer? You told us about two laptops, which one is the "main"?
You have two contracts with ISPs? How is the linksys router connected to internet?

(I'm sorry, but I'm a little dizzy and I can't imagine a solution to your problem... "Me" think that I don't understand what's HAPPENING )

my main computer is a dell DESKTOP and that is hooked up to the dsl cable which is where the router is hooked up to. The Lynskys router is WRT54G 2.4 GHZ The two laptops are the ones that I need to wireless network thru this computer. The HP is all set and running wirelessly without problems. The Dell Laptop that has the Netgear wirless card is the one that I cannot get to connect to the internet. I hope this info helps a bit more. Any info you can give me to get this networked would be greatly appriciated!
