Solve : NETGEAR DG834GT firmware upgrade problem?

Hi there

I'm trying to UPGRADE this routers firmware, each time I try I get the following message:

Upgrade file is not the correct type or version for this device.
Upgrade failed.

Please obtain the correct file and try again.

It is unofficial firmware, but I don't see that as being the problem as I haven't heard of ANYONE else experiencing the same problems.

I have tried several DIFFERENT versions of firmware, all resulting in the same message.

It does say in the ROUTER upgrade help file:

If you are unable to successfully upgrade using this method, refer to the Reference Manual on the DG834GTResource CD for other ways to upgrade the Router.

Well, I don't have the resource CD and the manual I downloaded from Netgear has no reference to this.

Any ideas chaps?

Have you been to http://kbserver.netgear.com/products/DG834GT.asp ?I found out about the unofficial firmware here:

Makes interesting reading. People are saying that they get uninterrupted/improved connections using the unofficial 1.0.30 version.
