i am needing help with my router. I have a netgear router that wont connect to my server, it will only connect to other peoples in my area. I am ABLE to hook up my modem and connect to the internet that way. I also have tivo and it hasn't been able to connect either, so i know it's my router. I have had this router for several years and never had a problem, it just recently started acting funny. I have a macbook. and my router does not require a password or anything (basically no security on it).
please help.

Most likely, you need a new router.i thought if the router was DEAD i wouldn't be able to connect to any internet unless it was just through the modem.Okay, we need moar infoz!!

1) Can you GET to ANY WEBSITE AT ALL using the router? Yes or No
2) Have you tried upgrading the firmware on your router? Yes or No
3) Have you checked your router's settings (WAN, LAN, and wireless)? Yes or No
4) What do you mean by "my server"? Do you have a server at home or are you trying to connect to someone else's server? Is the server inside your network or outside?THANKS for trying but someone (on a different site) who didn't need all this complicated info was able to help me get it resolved!!
