Answer» I have windows XP......on both computers. I have a CROSSOVER Cable to connect a computer to another computer. I had it WORKING and I messed up and now nothing. I need step by step on setting up the network. I used the so called "Wizard" and nothing. I EVEN did a save from Computer 1 with a NETSETUP and ran it....NOTHING I use "REPAIR" and when it is done it says......it COULD not renew your IP address. I have clicked all PLACES to Automatic acquire IP address on both computers. I see I have a "Bridge" now and is that a good thing? I am OK with computers...but I do need step by step. I will uninstall all my Network connections with device manager and start from scratch if I must.
