Answer» Hello All! I've always had two computers in my house running through a d-link DI-624 router. Our main pc is hooked directly in and the upstairs is wireless. As of a week ago we have a new laptop connecting wirelessly and strangely started noticing problems around the same time. Our computers will tell us that there is a network connection unplugged, or, while running a download or any LONG use program (AOL, AIM) the connection will stop momentarily causing the program/download to stop. I'm wondering if the laptop could have anything to do with this? Is there too much going on at once? Should we get wireless setup through our provider (comcast) so if it messes up we have someone to blame? Theres a chance it might not be the new computer at all. Thanks for your help and reading all of that.
Rich.Your laptop has a wireless adapter most surely. Have you set your laptop to use your wireless home network? Have you disabled it's wireless adapter? What laptop you have?
If your WAN (between your home and ISP) connection was fine until now don't change it to wireless. An upgrade of your actual connection would be to BUY a bigger bandwidth from your ISP, not changing to wireless.
