I drove down the street last night with the laptop and was able to connect to a wireless network. I guess the new laptop just wont communicate with the CABLE companies crappy wireless modem I have. I went and bought a linksys wireless router lastnight which I will hook up today. My question is should I take BACK the wireless modem to the cable company and get a regular modem now that I will be using the linksys. I ask this becuse I don't want that other unsecure network that I don't USE just sitting there for neighbors to grab.Wait... your moden is a wireless modem? modem and wireless all in ONE?Yeah Its all in one box. So anyway I returned the wireless modem to the cable company and got a regular one. Got my linksys hooked up and I'm all set. Much stronger signal and my connection is SECURE. Still don't know why the other modem did'nt work but oh well. Thanks for all the help. ,Bob
Good news Weird... The wireless musta been really bad on that. I will know to stay away from those. Well Im glad you got it working!
