Solve : New PC Build. Display not working.? |
|
Answer» Can anyone help me. I put together a new system. The configuration is a Amd x2 6000+ cpu on an Asus M2A-VM motherboard. I have 4gb of Corsair XMS ddr2 MEMORY. 500gb maxtor hd. 2 LG 20x dvd-rw drives. 512mb GEFORCE 8600GT video card. All powered by an utra v series 500w power supply. I Have built a few systems before and they have all worked properly. I put this one together, and tried to power it up, but I cannot get anything on my display. The standby light on the motherboard is on, the fans are all running, the hard drive led is lit, and the dvd drives are lit. Anyone have any suggestions on what to do to get the diplay to work. By the way. I am currently using the monitor with another system while I am posting this topic. The monitor works fine. It is a HP f1903, 19in LCD.you might want to test your video card on your other system. make sure its not defective.I have removed the Video card. I am now relying on the ONBOARD intergrated graphics.did you remember to disable the onboard graphics when you had the card installed? Can you disable onboard graphics without entering into the bios? No, its not as bad as most people think its not like if you look around that something will change an cause it not to boot. Most new video cards will disable on-board video, so I don't think this is the issue, but as Homer said: you might want to test your video card on your other systemQuote from: Broni on March 28, 2008, 05:15:28 PM Most new video cards will disable on-board video really? i never new that.Hmmm....I installed a couple, and never bothered to disable on-board video.im curious to know if that has an effect on system performance. What exactly?leaving the onboard video enabled while using an independent GPU. unless, of course, the GPU disables the onboard video.I believe, leaving on-board enabled, and installing real video card is asking for some conflict, but as I said new cards should be able to disable on-board.mine disabled automatically Thanks to all. I finally realized what I was doing that was WRONG. I have an ATX power supply and I failed to plug in the second power cord to the ATX slot on the motherboard. once I did that, everything worked fine. |
