Solve : No Video Signal !!!? |
|
Answer» Totally NEW system. Can't get started. Monitor states - "No Video Signal." It's not the cable (have 2) works on OLDER computer. It's the Sparkle GeForce 9600 GT. Not reconized by system. ...(PCI Express 2.0) Can't install new (Retail) Vista Full - because I can't see instructions on screen. Video card installation instructions states - video card may not be reconized until CD drivers are installed etc. It's a Catch-22. Everything is new!!! New Intell Extreme Motherboard, w/ Extreme CPU. New WD SATA 500GB Hard Drive. ....(not formatted). New SATA DVD/CD 24X Writer. ....I can't installed anything, until I first installed the Operating System. But how can I - If I can't see the monitor?_____ Undertsand - I've custom over 8 IDE and SCSI system in the past. This is my first SATA. I've always gotten a cursor to go from there. This time I'm baffled. Please Help!!! I understand if the HD had the OpSys on it, I could then install the drivers that comes with the Video Card. Do you think - If I install a cheap (temp) PCI video card, just see if I can install Vista - ....you think that might work?____ ....and Will a PCI video card (NEEDING no drivers) enable me to see my monitor? ...until I can install Vista - to install GeForce drivers, then remove the PCI video card and re-install the GeForce PCI Express X16 card?____ Does all this makes since to you?____ BIOS should recognize PCI-e graphics card as the primary, but for some reason, it's not. Install PCI video card, just to get to the BIOS, then try to change the default to the GeForce card. does your system have onboard video that you can use instead of the video card?Does your monitor have CrossFire Support? Is it required? On a new build this is the approach to take for the least headaches: After MBoard; CPU; fan and heatsink are assembled into the case hook up only the following: Keyboard Mouse Monitor ( use onboard first ) 1 Stick of RAM 1 Hdd that is going to hold the OS 1 Optical drive. Boot to the OS CD and run the install... When it finishes do the following in this order: Install the MBoard chipset drivers. Install your protection apps. Set up the network and connect to the web. Update all your protection apps and set them up accordingly. Run Windows Update. Then run your protection apps...create an image if you have an imaging app such as Acronis; Ghost or other. Unplug your internet connection. Power down. Add the following re-booting a few times between each to make sure all is WELL: RAM. If all is good proceed to: Vid card. Install the card and it's drivers...don't worry about updating drivers at this point. Sound card...same as above. Any other add-on devices...same as above. Again re-boot checking all devices...add additional drives at this point if needed and you're done. This is the best and quickest method to get up and running with a new build. Best of Luck. |
