Solve : Password protecting Lan Connection? |
|
Answer» Dear all, no body else can access the internet..but somebody is still allowed to use your computer for other purposes?we have internet service here through cable PROVIDER who has the connection through fibre optics. I am using Windows XP. Yeah, my kid uses the computer to play games, and as he is very young, I dont like that he can access the internet in my absence. Regards. There are some 3rd party programs, which will lock down Internet access, but I didn't find any free ones. Another option would be to create another account for your kid. I don't remember, how it was in XP, but in my Vista, I can right click on any program (like "iexplore.exe"), and set it up to be run as Administrator only. This way another profile user won't be able to start IE.I have alreay created a seperate account for my kid but problem is remain the same, lan connection is active even his account is not set as administrator Quote but problem is remain the same, lan connection is activeIf you disable his browser, how is he gonna go to the Net?Put a password on his account so that YOU have to be there when he wants to use the computer (Internet).
