Answer» I have an old PC I've set up as a server for the home network, and it's being awkward by refusing to boot from anything but the hard drive. I've tried changing boot devices in the BIOS, and CONFIRMED that the changes stick, but even so it reports the hard drive not detected (unless I have one in) and stops.
Can anyone suggest a fix? Ubuntu's dmidecode gives me the following info:

If CDRom a few things you can try: Check the health of the Secondary IDE in Device Manager/or the Ubuntu equivalent... Try re-installing the MBoard drivers. Replace the IDE cable.
