Solve : PCI Adapter Card vs USB Adapter?

Answer»

We just recently SWITCHED to AT&T Uverse, so we now have wireless. We were told that Uverse didn't work with computers having Windows 2000, so we just replaced that computer with a desktop that has XP. Apparently that computer does not have a wireless card. I've looked at both a PCI card and a USB adapter for wireless. Is one better than the other? Not REALLY, I have a PCI card and it has excellent signal strength most of the time, but that depends on the distance too. The only difference is that one is portable and one isn't. Well, EASILY portable.

I would just go for the cheaper one, but if you want it to be more permanent and less chance of it getting bumped and breaking then go for PCI card.

Your choice... I have two PCI wireless cards, a XTreme-N and a Wireless-G, both from D-Link. They work great.

As Mr.Google says, an internal card is a more permanent SOLUTION and also has less chance of being accidentally unplugged at ciritcal times Ditto. More important is to get one that WORKS for you.
