Answer» Hello, I have a Gateway E 4100 RUNNING windows XP pro. When i use my network providers installation CD, I get to the part were it tells me to plug my ethernet cable in so that it can finish the installation. But It does not detect it. The light comes on around the ethernet plug in and the COMPUTER detects that there is a internet CONNECTION. What can I do? What exactly are you TRYING to install, and why? Normally, you don't install anything. You just hook up the ethernet cable, and the connection is right there. What the whole story?
