Solve : Problem With Netgear router?

Answer»

I made my wireless router only accept my Nintendo Ds's mac address. How Can I correct this? I have pressed the "Restore Factory Settings" buton but i won't work. How should I correct this? I cannot connect through my computersIt would help if you TOLD us the model number because instructions on how to reset a router varies from brand to brand and even between models. The model number should be listed somewhere on it.Deerpark is right.  And, just punching the reset button doesn't always reset.  Sometimes you must 1. hold the button down for :10 2. reboot the modem 3. a combination thereof.  If the modem is reset, then when you OPEN your browser it will show a setup screen, so I suspect you have net reset it properly.

To be bulletproof with resetting, disconnect power for 30 sec. That doesn't work on all routers Broni. I've got an D-link router that I only use occasionally. When I'm not using it, it's packed away in a closet. It still manages to KEEP its settings even if it goes for months WITHOUT power. A router with flash ram for storage can keep its settings for years. Thanks Deerpark...I didn't realize that. Quote from: JonathanRP on October 27, 2007, 09:09:52 AM

The problem with troubleshooting is that trouble SHOOTS back.  ~Author Unknown
