Answer» There is a popular game that my oversea friends in China introduced me too. But the game is an online game that is a China website. When I open up the game webpage, it starts to load. The loading time was slow as expected, but when I GET to the game login page it just freezes, or sometimes I cannot even enter the website...how can I fix this? Any help is appreciated. Can you share the URL to this game so I can test on my test box?Okay, the game that my little brother is playing is in an oversea website in China called: www.4399.com It's a website full of games, and the game we are trying to access is one of them. But the actual game is on: http://www.4399.com/flash/seer.htm Thanks.Hey Dave, I'm starting to realize that it is starting to affect other web pages as well, especially overseas one. I do expect oversea sites to be slow, but they are not just slow, they are unusable(loads on forever, loads a blank page e.g). Now, even my local sites are getting slower... Any help is appreciated Thanks, WhitebeardPlease run www.speedtest.net and share figures. This will show what you have for bandwidth. Then run the following to test for latency:
Run these from cmd shell and write down average and max latency for all of these.
ping www.google.com ( Note: This should be a low latency less than 60ms for DSL and Broadband )
ping www.4399.com ( Note: This will show the latency between you and the website, as long as PING requests are not disabled by the host ) You might get a message that doesnt report info back and that would be if they have PING requests denied on their server. However if it allows it it will give you insight as to latency for the connection between your computer and the web server that hosts the game.
If you can ping this www.4399.com website successfully you can ALSO traceroute it and see where the latency is located.
tracert www.4399.com is the command to trace the latency of all HOPS between your computer through the ISP and the ISP's connection to the web all the way back to the host in china.
When you have done this if the information doesnt make sense as to where the problem is at if not straight forward, share it here and we will explain the figures. You can copy and paste the text info here from the command shell.Hey Dave, Thanks a lot for the reply. I had understood your instructions and did everything as indicated. The speedtest ran fine, and I seemed to found the problem. Thanks a lot for the help! (sorry i cannot copy the text because my computer's out of power and im using my phone to type. But the problem was fixed.) Cool to hear you found the problem.
If you could PLEASE share here the fix or cause for the problems you had that would be great. This way in the future if anyone has a similar issue they will find your helpful information in the CH search as well as Google Search, which could point the way to the cause of their same SYMPTOM issue, and possibly a solution.
