Answer» just went with wireless hi-speed after YEARS of dial up......the installer tested the speed with his laptop and was around 1400kb download and around 400 KB upload......my older (6 yr old, pent 4, 2.0ghz, w/ only 256mg ram) pc COULD only get 350kb both ways... could it be my eathernet card?...not enough ram?....(the installer hinted at the ram being the problem, he had like 2gigs of ram).... I don't have a clue ..... dalDal, Are you connected directly to the internet or using a router? Download, and INSTALL TCP Optimizer: http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php Open it, and put a checkmark in Optimal Settings. Click Apply changes button. Restart COMPUTER, and see if it helped.
