Answer» HELLO everyone, i have an xp desktop which is connected to my WIRELESS router through ETHERNET. my laptop can access the router with no problem and also connects to the internet. the only problem i have is sharing folders and files. they cant ping each other. any IDEAS?What version of Windows do you have on the desktop and laptop? Do you have any firewalls running? (May be part of an installed internet security suite.)xp pro desktop and a vista home laptop. i do have a FIREWALL but i disabled it and it didnt change anything. you must have your firewall running at all time wot windows r you running xp or vista i disabled it to try to connect to the network. and as i said before, xp pro desktop, vista home laptop
