Solve : Problems with surfing the web?

Answer»

Ok I have a wireless air card and it works fine with other laptops except for mine. When I put the USB into my laptop its connects and lets me know that it is connected but when I try to start browsing it says INTERNET EXPLORER CANNOT DISPLAY PAGE. This just became a problem about a month ago but before then I could browse! I've tried using dial-up and wireless connections but they all say te same thing. Help pleaseWhat operating system are you using?

Click Start> Run (Or hold down the Windows KEY on your keyboard and press R)
And type:
CMD

Vista:
Press the Start button on your keyboard, type Cmd
Right click CMD and click "Run With Administrator Privileges"

Type the FOLLOWING:
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

Second step:
If that didnt work, find the Wireless icon on the system TRAY (next to the TIME on your start menu bar) and right click it. Click "Diagnose and Repair"
(There may be more than one Wireless icon in your system tray) ok I tried the first step and it says the requested operation requires elevation. what does that mean?
Then when i put in ipconfig/renew it said no operation can be performed on wireless connection while it has media disconnected. what does that mean as well?Quote from: lashun2006 on November 17, 2008, 12:55:52 PM

So, I take it you are using Vista?

"Requested Operating Requires Elevation"
Are you an administrator on the computer? You need to be to perform either of the actions.
To open CMD, be absolutely sure that you follow the Vista command prompt options.

This means you currently arent set to connect to a wireless network.... which helps us figure out what the problem might be.

Do you use Windows to configure your wireless network? If so:
Press the Start Button, and type:
Network and Sharing
and open Network Sharing (which will appear in the start menu)
On the left hand menu, click "Connect to a Network"

Its self explanatory from there.
ok im connected!! the media is connected it just keep sayin that its not! why does it say that?
and its still not working
