Solve : Reboot or select proper boot device?

Answer»

Just speculating but the defaults for boot prty must have been floppy>hard drive >(CD-ROM disabled) the computer shop changed it to floppy->CD-ROM->harddrive. also previously both hard dirves had to have been enabled. The only thing that makes sense was some how when my C drive fried it self some how the BIOS setting for hard drive D changed from enable to disabled. When I tried booting after adding the backup harddrive it couldn't boot D drive because it was disabled. Once I enabled it every thing was fine. Now I need to get a new CASE so the new C drive I buy won't get fried I am considering an Antec Sonata IIAgain this doesn't happen...a HDD frying will not MAKE changes to the BIOS.All I know is that that day before the night my HD fried the system worked fine,
I leave it on over night to do defarag and virus scan. Next day I got up discovered my HD was fried took out old ONE put in backup partitioned it formated it when I tried to access my D drive for backups I kept GETTING the message. I never touched BIOS and no one else did. Never opened BIOS until it was SUGGESTED to change boot priority. Did that while I was there I looked at other setting and found under HDs that D drive was disabled didn't touch it then but the more I thought about it I thought that made sense to be the answer i then I enabled D drive that solved the problem
That's all I can say. Maybe something else changed BIOS I don't know???
