recently i noticed in my LAN network that unable to ping between two local systems... but am able to do with server and local sys... is there any services i need to start.... can any ONE this plz....
Thanks & RegardsIt depends on your OS and firewall you are using, but the Ping function can be blocked by the firewall - check yours to see if that service has been disabled.
Using Ping in large waves is a type of DOS (Denial of Service) attack on servers - it overloads them with Ping requests and gets traffic jammed.Also if you're running Vista, you may have to run the Command Prompt elevated if UAC is TURNED on.
Start -> All Programs -> ACCESSORIES -> right-click Command Prompt -> left-click "Run as Administrator" -> accept UAC prompt
