I have a home network: 1 PC running Win XP Pro SP2, 1 Sony Vaio notebook running Win XP Pro SP2, 1 Acer Aspire notebook running Win Vista Home Premium, 1 MacBook running OS X 10.4 All this connected via a Belkin wireless router.

I have one more Acer Aspire notebook which I will use on the road and I want to be able to access my home network to share DATA, ETC. and for my desktop PC to access data on the roaming Acer. How can I do that ? Does it mean I need a VPN ? I tried reading about OpenVPN but was completely bamboozled by jargon. If a VPN is the only way to do this, then can someone please explain how to do it in simple terms and words of very few syllables ?

Try log me in, when i used it last, it did all the stuff you want it to do.... very nice... and easy to use...Thanks COHEN, a quick try of Logmein seems to work well. That could be my easy solution.
