Answer» Hi, recently my Netgear 54mbps wireless ADSL modem router DG8346 V3 antena broke. I've put it back on with blu tack but I keep LOSING signal around the house. I was hoping you could give me some suggestions on a good modem with excellent signal (because last TIME a bought a router without help, I ended up buying a cable router and couldn't think why it wasn't work), I've got a OLD Victorian house so the walls are really thick and signal doesn't seem to travel well in the house.
Also, are the Netgear signal boosters any good? Cause I think I remember reading that they have to be plugged into a telephone socket and I only have 2 of them and 3 computers (one on first floor, one on second floor and one in the attic)
Finally, if I bought a new router would I be able to keep the other one plugged in - so that I get better signal, cause my SIXTH Form has routers in every room and none of the computers have bad signal.
Thanks
P.S I have a 8mb internet but my city only supports 4mb so I have 4mb internet, if that's any help. OH, not a cable router, don't have cable got the other one. Okay if you don't want to give me suggestions, can you at least tell me what you have? Cheers
