Solve : Router drops connection/ does not even log in every time?

Answer» Router drops connection/ does not even log in EVERY time.
The lap top or desk top loose connection between the router and them selves. You have to log in to router then push connect. It used to stay connected all the time until I switched of power a while back until a 'Indian' call centre made changes on it, I don't know what though ! Can you help ?
Need info.

Whats the router MODEL?
Whats your internet provider?
When did this start happening?
Etc...Hi,
Its a belkin f5d7630-4a and i use Tiscali.OS' of laptop and desktop?

Jonas I use windows XPWhere is your router placed? (e.g.: next to a micro wave at the top floor)
Do you know how to get to the control panel of the router?

Jonas I keep it near the lap top, in office, no MICROWAVES etc, but the hard wired desktop does the same. I can get into the settings of the router, yes.So did you try updating the firmware?

Jonas no I have not yet. When i do try to update firmware it asks to browse for a file, i thought it goes to Belkin ? Now What shall I do. ThanksWell you first need to Download the firmware and LOCATE it somewhere.
(I don't know why but you always have to do that to update any firmware.)

Jonas When I tried looking at Belkin I got this
Are you sure the model is wright?

Jonas Its an F5D 7630.
I updated the firmware and the router would not let me connect to the net, hence I have not replied. I had to phone belkin, but STILL not sure that my original problem of it loosing connection is still here. I will leave it on and reply later.
