Solve : Router Setup Question??

Answer»

I'm setting up my router and I was told that I needed to have my computer plugged in to the router all the time as a "HOST". When I questioned this, I was told "Well why do you think they'd give you a DISK to have it setup from your computer?" I understand that I have to have it plugged in to setup the router's configurations, but with a laptop that has the capabilities to pick-up wireless, I feel that I don't really NEED to keep it plugged in, other than the setup. Is this bogus? Or is there merit to this? Thanks.Completely bogus. Who told you that DRIVEL?
You only need to have your computer WIRED to the router while you're doing the initial setup. After that no wired connection is needed. (With the exception of the internet connection going to the router. This will have to be wired under most circumstances.)
