Solve : Router with Clear wimax usb mobile. Connecting?

Answer»

Ok this is probably going to be simple, but..I have a linksys wrt54g v5 on a dektop. I have a Clear WIMAX usb device (suppose to be for portables, laptop) I have it installed on the desk top, works fine.

Q: how do I get the wireless ROUTER to go thru to clear? Remember the clear is a USB connection, no 45 connector.
I thought you have it installed and works fine already.

Usually after installing the driver, on the usb adapter icon , you search for the router/home network ID.
Hi thanks for responding. I have the usb "antenna" attached to my desktop and it works for the desktop. When I try to install a simple linksys wireless router it KILLS my connection to the internet. Probably because...

1. the cabling of the router is such...cable from router to cpu as is correct. check done.
2. cable from modem (which is the clear wimax antenna) not done. It is a usb device, the router takes a RJ45 cat5, so there is nothing "in" to the router.

so I'm guessing that when you install a router it takes the place of the internet connection in. and then looks for it to be plugged into itself.

BUT the clear antenna is still connected to the computer, I'm guessing that there is some settings WITHIN networking or the router itself that can be set to "see" this.

Do you see?

thanks Quote

Are you connecting the router by your ISP modem? I understand you WANT the desktop to be wireless but what is the antenna then for? I am just trying to set up a wireless router to the desktop where my clear device is connected and currently works, I am doing this so I can have wireless access to internet for multiple laptops.
