Answer» So my brother just GOT himself a new desktop, its all working with the exception of his internet. He got a wireless N CARD, and our router was wireless G, so he went and got a new wireless N router (Asus RT-N53). My dad decided at the same time he wanted to change our old setup around due to messy/unsightly wiring. The result is my desktop is now the new "host" computer. I installed all the drivers, software, whathaveyou, and got these results: My desktop (host, windows 7): has internet my netbook (windows xp): has internet my ps3: has internet my brothers netbook (windows xp): has internet my brothers ps3: has internet my brothers desktop (windows 7), d-link N300+ card: no internet my sisters computer (windows 7) (integrated card, not sure what kind): no internet my dads desktop (windows xp, d-link WD-1320 card): has internet
i have no idea how to get the two windows 7 computers working. Neither one of them will discover the network, and i dont think its the wireless whatever being turned off because my sisters was connected before i changed the hardware setup and my brother claims to have installed all his software correctly. help/tutorial links please?
This is what a small office network might look like; I'm curious as to what you mean by "my desktop is now the new "host" computer." All the computers should be able to obtain a DHCP ADDRESS DIRECTLY from your router and connect to the internet without any assistance from your computer.sorry. by "host" i just mean i am wired directly into the router. not technically a "host," just i have the router on my desktop kindathing.

thats called a 'node'We can eliminate the possibility of the router outputting only on the 802.11n channel as your dad's desktop(WDA-1320 does not support N) is connected. Have you tried a wired connection to one of the Windows 7 computers that will not detect the network? Have you tried manually entering the SSID into the Windows 7 computers?
