Solve : Shareing Internet Connection? |
|
Answer» we have a comcast router from Embarq 660 an want to connect a Dlink DIR-628 to share the wired an wireless connection from the Embarq. You don't have a wireless connection from Embarq; you have a wired line from them coming into your modem. You create your wireless access by hooking up your wireless router. So, hook'r up and git'r done. wouldnt be on other wise but, I STILL want this setup cause, I cant run all these cablesExactly what is your question? I want to connect the dlink off the emarq an have it use the internet connectionSo, what's holding you back? Why haven't you done it?cause, I dont know how toconnect them.I done that the wires are ran an everything is connect. That didnt do anythingIf you connect a computer DIRECTLY to the modem with an Ethernet cable, do you get an Internet connection?MAKE sure you are connecting the modem to the WAN port on the router, it's the one out on its own and not in the big block of 4. You may also need to log in to the router's control panel so you can configure any settings. It see's that there is a connection there but, when I try to go to a page it wont. I unplugged both ends of the patch cable an reconnected them to the router Getting a connection now for some reasonTo everyone who responded in this thread: You have all allowed Ryuk to spin your wheels. The OUTCOME here was inevitable: "Gee, all of a sudden it's working - I don't know why". I'm locking this thread and reminding you all to think twice before getting involved in his nonsense in the future - for the sake of your own sanity!!! |
