Solve : Sites not fully Unblocked ( ISA )?

Answer»

Im trying unblock sites that have links and images that are from different sites. Since I don't know what these other sites are when the website is unblocked its jumbled and has no images.

Is there a way to get a list of where the site is getting their images and external links?

example: www.whitepages.com is a site that has images and links hosted elsewhere

*** I am also using Internet security acceleration as my web filter. Everything is blocked unless allowed accessNot sure what h you are asking.
You want an image that is blocked?
It it is blocked, why? How do you know you want it if you don't see it?
If you know the name of the image you can search for in in Google.
Do you need a high-quality copy of the image? That may involve copyright right, you need permission from the owner of the image.

Low quality images are easy to get. Just copy  with you favorite screen-capture program.

FYI: Many sites block links to images, this puts a load on their bandwidth. Put the image on you own web space. Then you pay for the bandwidth. Even so, you should credit the source.

Does this help any?
ehh a little bit i GUESS ... Im using ISA as a webfilter on our server so that my employees are doing their work and not facebooking all day. We have it set up where all sites are blocked unless they are on our "allow list."

Say if i added www.whitepages.com/* to our allow list the users will be able to get to the site. How ever the site is jumbled with out any images and it makes it impossible to navigate the site. This is happening because the site is pulling its images from another host ( website )
In order for me to make the site usable I WOULD have to know all the other websites that are being used on that page and add those to the allow list as well ( if that makes sense ) So the site would no longer be jumbled.

Im wondering if there is a way of finding all these websites used or posted on a website :/ Quote from: CrzyTech on March 27, 2012, 03:04:59 PM

In most browsers, right click on the page and click view source.  Search within that page for all the IMG tags.  They will contain the URLs of the images.

Which version of ISA is it?  TMG has the Microsoft Web Protection Service, which is pretty GOOD for URL categorisation.I misunderstood the problem.
Your best bet is to  hire an outside source to help you  with your filters. It can be very TIME consuming to do it yourself. Unless you  can really barrow it down to just a few sires you want.

My point is that many business firms have had this same problem, thus there are consultants  with software and databases that do it for your. company. I don't know the details of how it works.

Not sure, but I think Google offers this kind of service to clients for a small fee. The service lets you specify which sites are OK, and they do l the rest of the hard work, such as making sure images are included in the good stuff.

FIREWALL Client for ISA Server - Microsoft

Date published: 10/4/2007Alas from memory, WPS was new for TMG, so for ISA 2006, you'd need to use a third-party option if you wanted to go down this route.  I'm not aware of any free options; manually keeping these whitelists up to date is a Herculean task, so worth paying for, IMHO, if you're committed as a company to using whitelists.
