Answer» The sequence of events:
At home, I boot up Laptop A (Windows 7 Home Premium), enter Windows, go to Speedtest.net. My download SPEED reaches about .75 mb/sec, my UPLOAD speed about 3.5 mb/sec. (Yes, upload speed = 5x download speed.)
I boot up Laptop B (Vista Home Premium) and let it reach the Windows logon screen.
I run Speedtest.net on Laptop A again. Now its download speed = about 15 mb/sec. Upload speed remains about 3.5 mb/sec.
This problem seems not to occur on any other network.
Any idea what's going on and how I can fix it so that Laptop A reaches top speed w/o help from Laptop B?
Thanks. It would seem you are using Laptop B as a bridge.
Have a look in control PANEL , Network, check the properties of your network make sure if there is a checkbox saying let Allow other USERS to CONNECT through this internet connection is unchecked.
If this doesnt work let me know.
