We have,

x/2 + x/8 = 1/8

let us take LCM for 2 and 8 which is 8

(x×4)/8 + (x×1)/8 = 1/8

4x/8 + x/8 = 1/8

5x/8 = 1/8

By using cross-multiplication we get,

5x = 8/8

5x = 1

x = 1/5

∴ x = 1/5
