Answer» I have Comcast through my desktop computer, but I'm going to college next fall and I'm planning on getting a laptop soon... most likely a Dell INSPIRON. I honestly don't know very much about laptops to begin with, but this is the most confusing thing to me. I need to know what internet connection is best... like should I stick with Comcast, or get AOL or something else for the laptop. Pretty much, any info you can GIVE me is highly appreciated. & also, sorry if I POSTED this in the wrong section. I tried to find what I thought matched this best. Thanks so much!! KT Welcome to the forum! Chances are, the school you attend will have internet access. If the laptop you obtain has a built in Ethernet port (like a phone jack plug in, only six WIRES instead of four) and a built in wireless card, you'll be all set to access WHATEVER network the school has in place. Most laptops come with these features, now.Oh, ok... Thank you! That cleared up a lot.
