wasn't SURE where to post this.

I recieved a threatening email through gmail from another gmail account. Is there any way to realistically find out who sent it? Could/would the police bother investigating this?This will get you started.

As far as I know, that doesn't work on Google servers. In that case contact Google Security and follow their direction,

Incorrect. The originator's public IP is in the header. From that, you can DETERMINE his ISP. That's about as far as you can go. The authorities can go further, if there is probable cause.
