Solve : Unable to access https sites.?

Answer»

Trying to help a friend.

She has an active running internet connection. She is unable to access any of her business web HTTP(s) sites; access is denied to the SECURE page.

I had her make sure the web site addresses are listed as a 'trusted site' in the tools security tab.

I had her make sure all her web site security settings were set to default to allow the setting of cookies.

Window's firewall is 'on'.

Any suggestions.

Thanks Tom

I don't know anything about certificates if that is an issue. What browser?Sorry. IE7

Go to options > security > "Use SSL" (etc.)

That mightn't be exactly right, but you should be able to find it.

Does this help?I went to the security tab. I clicked on the trusted site icon. There is an additional tab 'sites'. It just says that all addresses that are listed will be checked by the zones security settings. I can't find and SSL etc tabs or options.

I forgot to mention. She let Windows do a network diagnostic. The only thing odd showed: HTTPS Not Connected.

Would missing 'add-ons' have anything to do with it?Quote from: tpolcha on September 25, 2008, 12:38:45 PM

Would missing 'add-ons' have anything to do with it?

Not sure...

Give me a minute to "root out" my IE7... Okay, go to Tools > Advanced tab > Security, and check the following:

Use SSL 2.0
Use SSL 3.0
Use TLS 1.0

Now how is it?All they choices are checked. No change.1. Click Start, and then click Run.

2. In the Open box, TYPE one of the following
commands, and then click OK (copy and paste is your
best friend):

regsvr32 softpub.dll
regsvr32 wintrust.dll
regsvr32 initpki.dll
regsvr32 dssenh.dll
regsvr32 rsaenh.dll
regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll
regsvr32 sccbase.dll
regsvr32 slbcsp.dll
regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll

4. Click OK when you receive the message that says
DllRegisterServer in FileName succeeded.

5. Repeat for each command line listed ABOVEI am having the same problem as here. Did this final fix work?
