I have a second computer that runs windows xp pro sp3 while away and back home I have not been able to connect this computer to the wireless network.

when i try an ipconfig /release and renew i get an error that unable to connect to you DHCP Server

I did look into this and replaced the winsock still the same.  I have removed and readded the wireless driver and software.  I just run a windows repaire on the computer but still getting the same.  I have cleared the wireless router of the ips in use but still getting this error it really is doing my head in and cant think what else to try.  The router works fine with all other computers and I even renamed the router but seems what ever I try I still have this error and really NEED some help

Oh in the connect tcp/ip there is nothing in here it is all set to automatic try to do:
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release

ipconfig /renewDoes this computer connect successfully if you use a CABLE?I have done the ipconfig the ipconfig /registerdns failed.

When checking with the cable it all worked ok it just seems to be the wireless that has the ISSUE When you're viewing available wireless networks, CLICK on 'Change Advanced Settings'.

In the new window, click on the Wireless Networks tab and click on Properties.

Go to the Authentication tab.

Is the first checkbox checked?Try to unplug/plugin you router just to refresh it..I have changed it from the netgear software to windows and is now working?  But I had removed all the netgear software and reinstalled it?Are you asking us QUESTIONS?it just seems strange I removed the netgear software and put it to windows and worked ok.  Just wondred if there was something that would have caused this to happen or a location it has stored the ip?This is not all that uncommon.  Surprisingly, Windows' Wireless Zero Configuration usually does a better job than most manufacturer's own utilities.
