Solve : Unable to renew ip address/limited or no connectivity?

Answer»

I'm having trouble connecting to the internet on my laptop. It has been saying limited or no connectivity. I talked to my internet provider, and they did EVERYTHING they could do. They couldn't fix the ISSUE, they said something about a hardware or software problem. I can't renew the IP address. Since about Wednesday last week I have been following tips I found on different tech websites. I have tried some ipconfig solutions, Msinfo32, fixing Winsock corruption. I'm just following instructions I figure you all know what i'm talking about with ipconfig and that other stuff. Nothing has WORKED yet. I really don't have $65 - $80 to pay a repair store. That's why i'm trying to get advice and try and fix this sort of on my own. I have tried netsh winsock reset. It said to restart the computer for the changes to take effect and I still couldn't renew the ip address. I have seen  posts similar to my issue but they were not quite the same. That's why I went ahead and made this new post. If you need any more information, let me know. Any advice on anything I could do would be appreciated. Thank you.

What has changed since it last worked? You really need to get an Anti-Virus program if only to rule out a virus infection.

I have tried the solutions on helpdeskgeek.com. Nothing fixed the issue. The only things that have changed is that when I run netsh winsock reset, the signal strength says good or low sometimes and says that it's connected. But then it goes back to low signal strength and limited or no connectivity. I downloaded Comodo Internet security before I lost my connection last week.  I don't even know if it  was working or not, so I tried to delete it because I was told it might be the problem. Either comodo is the problem or using my REGISTRY cleaner to much could be the problem. I don't know.
