Solve : usb ports 3.o?

i am looking at a new laptop but it as THREE usb ports 3.0.and one 2.0 do the 3.0 have a different connection,will my accessaries  IE mouse memory sticks keyboard.ect,have to be changed.USB 2 devices will plug into USB 3 ports.  No problem.

Rob is correct. All newer USB ports are 'backwards compatible' with older USB ports. i.e USB 3.0 will except USB 2.0 and USB 1.0 / 1.1 etc. . . however, USB 2.0 cables can't work at USB 3.0 speed if they are plugged into a USB 3.0 port. There is a FUNDAMENTAL difference between the cables. Just an FYI.Thanks to all of you Rob/ reddevilggg / linux 711.you have HELPED me once again .(you never fail).
