Answer» i am using my phone to connect to internet in my computer using a 3G connetion. i am using firefox 5 but still getting a very low SPEED. please help3G provides peak data rates of at LEAST 200 kbit/s. This is only 4X FASTER than dial-up & 10% or less than the speed of DSL or cable.I agree with Computer_Commando. Many TIMES, you get a faster connection speed by pulling into the local fastfood joint, buying a snack, and using their in-house wireless connection for free. Many libraries, CITY Halls, and coffee shops also have free wifi. Your laptop wireless modem will connect to their wireless DSL connection at 11-54MB, then their DSL/Cable connection is usually 6-12MB. That's still a LOT faster than the 3G connection (think of the 3G as a dial-up modem speed connector).
If your 3G connection is to a desktop/tower computer, you might be better off paying for "DSL lite", where the telephone compay gives you a home DSL connection without charging you all the extras for local and long distance telephone services. Just continue living off your cellular telephone.
