Solve : Vista Admin Issues? |

Answer» So I got a new device to hook up to my home network and need to enter my WEP key. I misplaced the paper I wrote it down on, it's not written on the modem, all those simple little things I've tried. However, I think I found a way to do it but I need a little help. So on my LAPTOP (which is already on my home network) I went to Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Manage Wireless NETWORKS. I then right CLICK my network and click properties. After that I go to my security tab and see the WEP key.. except it's encoded with those stupid BLACK dots and I can't see what it is. There is a button called "Show Characters" but I am not able to click it. I figured it WOULD have something to do with not being an administrator.. except I have the only account on my laptop and I am an administrator. So if someone could either tell me how to fix this or another way of obtaining my WEP key short of calling Verizon, I would greatly appreciate it.Try this tool: |
