Answer» Hello all,
I plan on connecting 2 branch office LOCATIONS to our main office. Our main office has a watchguard edge firewall with built in VPN w/IPSEC. Our internet speeds are very slow 1.5Mbps because of our main office LOCATION. I've been using PPTP connecting remote laptops but im wondering if using the same type of connection in the system is the best way. In other words setting up the vpn on the network rather then the CLIENT. We are also not in a domian environment. What would you guys RECOMMEND for easy vpn connections (hardware, software ex.)
Thanks,
brettWell I think my idea is going to be installing Cisco RVL200 at each outpost for connection, they support both PPTP and VPN with IPSEC. you can try to use a free service like Logmein, it would work with out a vpn. Just need webaccess and you can remote into any computer. yea i use that service a lot, but all i want to do is be on the network, not remote to a computer. LogMeIn have a new tool available, called Hamachi. It will create a VPN between sites over the internet, and join them. The catch is you will need to install it onto every computer at all the sites or try and bridge the two adapters.
