i have this prob with my laptop.its an IBM think pad.it was first complaining of virus and update of OS.and it has no cd-rom drive.I tried formating it before, bet it would not format .it also has a bus password which i have forgoting.now it BOOTS before REACHING desktop it stops.And i have a lot of information on its hard disk that i cant just loos.so what do i do. Please don't think I am RUDE. But if you can not REMEMBER a password after using this computer for some time, how can you follow instructions on how to restore your computer?
You will have to get a an external CD-rom drive. With it you can boot up a CD that has a program that will let you upload your files to a server. The IIBM site has a program that will do that for you. Not knowing the exact MODEL number, I can't tell you where to look.Do NOT post your message twice.
