please help me...i want to have my own server in my COMPUTER shop and i DONT know what to do because i dont know what are the requirements of a server.please forgive me for my bad english.Are you trying to join a domain or a WORKGROUP?  What would you like the server to do? Specifically, do you want the server to:

a) store files for everyone on your network to access?
b) distribute settings between all your computers for security purposes (or just to MAKE everything similar)?
c) host a web site?
d) host e-mail?
e) host FTP?
f) back up your data?
G) act as a router/firewall?
h) act as a VPN server?

There are plenty of things a server can do.  We just need to know what you want it to do...
