Solve : What's the correct Network Configuration??

Answer»

Hi,

I am here to pose a question for all.

I have a NetGear DG834GT router, which is configured as a DHCP server with the usual default ADDRESS (192.168.0.1 with MASK of 255.255.255.0).
Connected to this is a NetGear WNR2000v1, which when I connect to the DG834GT shows as having my PC connected and the other Netgear router. This router however is given a 192.168.0.3 address.
Now, if I connect to the WNR2000v1 router, it shows as having a different IP. It shows as having the address of 192.168.1.1.

As you can imagine, I am now confused. Which address has it really got?, and how do I best configure the home network?

We have this layout as we have 5 students that stay with us and they each have a wireless laptop or iPhone, hence GETTING 2 wireless routers to pick up the connections.

Does anyone have any good ways for me to configure this correctly, or are the two routers correctly configured now?

Kind RegardsWorks best if each router has different Class C addresses
Router #1:  192.168.1.1
Router #2:  192.168.0.1

I think this is what you currently have.
