Answer» I'm moving my router to try and get better coverage in my HOUSE and I need to buy a longer cable to connect it to the PC. The one that comes with the router has a string of LETTERS and numbers to categorise it. Do I need to find an identical cable or are some of the letters or numbers the KEY ones when searching for a supplier? The cable I have has the following on it: E344O96 FLI AWM 285 26AWG4PAIR 60°C 30V FT2 UTP CAT.5E TIA/EIA568B 2 ETERNITY JU 22 2019 Any help on this would be great!The only part of that that really matters is "CAT 5e" which is the STANDARD of cable, any CAT 5e or greater (CAT 6, CAT6a.etc) cable will work fine. The only thing to watch out for cables that are listed as "CCA" these are cheap cables with an aluminium conductor when it really should be solid copper, just avoid these and you'll be fine. Five cats.
