Answer» I have an Averatec laptop running windows xp professional sp3. It picked up wi-fi and loaded internet until recently. It still detects wi-fi signal yet won't log on to the internet. I've tried plugging directly into the network with the same result. When I try to REPAIR the connection it sends an error message that tcp/ip is not ENABLED. I went to properties and it shows that tcp/ip is marked. Please advise. THANK you.Let us try the simple things 1st. 1. Unplug the power to the router/modem for a minute then plug it back in. does that give access? 2.On the ICON for the internet connection (on the task bar beside the time) right mouse click and select "repair".
