Solve : WiFi connection issue? |
|
Answer» I have hp laptop with windows Vista. It had been working fine with internet connection. But RECENTLY, it has developed very unreliable internet connection. It will disconnect from the internet, with the ROUTER connection still intact for few mins. EVENTUALLY the router connection will become local only also. Diagnostic tools would not resolve this issue. Then, all of sudden, the internet connection would be reestablished. I am having hard time to resolve this issue. I have done the basics like power off the modem, the router etc., but this PROBLEM still persist. Thanks in advance, if you can assist me in this matter.Check to see if there any CONFLICTS in device manager......consider running Malwarebytes and HijackThis in case you picked up some malware. When it happens again you could also try ringing your provider to see if there is a problem at there end. Thanks, I'll try this. Forgot to mention, The WiFi and internet connections on my other laptop is working just fine. Quote from: imnyc on July 29, 2009, 12:54:50 PM Thanks, I'll try this. If it's local only your only connected to the router not the internet hence just have a check with your provider. Also when it happens have you tried right clicking on your tray icon and going into diagnose and repair? Sometimes resetting the IP address can make it work. I have tried diagnose and repair tool, but in vain. it does not resolve the issue. Thanks for the input.Check your router next time it happens to work out whether the issue is with your computer or the router. If the lights on your router go out/turn red or whatever then the issue is with your router or your line/ISP and your computer is fine. If however your computer is disconnected and your router and other computer stays connected obviously it's either the network adapter/drivers/malware issue on your problematic computer. |
