Solve : WiFi stopped working out of nowhere.? |
|
Answer» My laptop is connected to the internet by Wireless Connection/WiFi, the WiFi was working just fine last night but ever since this morning it hasn't worked. I tried rebooting it, even bought a new wireless router and it still won't work. It found several other wireless routers but not the one that I'm using. When it's connected to directly connected to the router, it works fine but when it's not, it doesn't. I don't really know what to do, I'm extremely confused. And I've been trying to figure it out for over five hours now. If it matters: the laptop is a HP G61-429 Notebook and runs Windows 7.Have you reset the router (UNPLUG the router for half a minute then restore power)?Yes, I tried doing that a couple times. Hi there, have you tried to change the channel the router is using? Quote from: Diodon on March 17, 2010, 10:03:53 AM Hi there, have you tried to change the channel the router is using? What?Sorry what I meant was, did you try to change the channel of your Wifi card to a different one? There might be a conflict since some countries use different channels than OTHERS and some network adapters wont work with any other frequency then they are set to receive/send on. Did you try if the router's visible on a different PC? This could have happened if your router or PC were set to a compatible channel but one of them did restart to its default settings so they both work on a different frequency. P.S: Had a laptop bought in AUSTRIA which I was using in Ireland and had to set the my network card to channel 11 otherwise I wasn't able to SEE my router (although other around were visible). Hope it helps... |
