Solve : Windows 7 stuck trying to "Identify Network"?

Answer»

For some reason, Windows 7 refuses to connect to the internet. It SAYS it connected to the Network, but says there is "No Internet access." Most of the time it gets stuck in this loop saying "Identifying Network."

My MacBook Pro has no issues with the internet, and my Roommates Vista laptop seems to handle it just as well. SO why does Windows 7 not want to cooperate? I tried disabling the antivirus and Firewall to no success.

I'm not sure how I would ping the router. This is the schools network, and they use a hidden domain...

I assumed you are on a simple home network, but since you are at a school I'll gracefully bow out because I'm not a super network-savvy person..ya... neither am I... sigh...

Thats the one thing that's preventing my from GETTING a A+ certification. Open a command prompt [Start / run / type cmd] At the command prompt type ipconfig / all. What are the numbers you GET?
