Solve : windows freezes at progress bar?

Answer»

ok i have an asus notebook x53L series , and i NEEDED to format it and installed a clean copy of windows xpsp3. Everything was fine until i installed the network driver.
During the installation of this driver , the system worked really really slow even the cursor of the mouse was moving slow. And i coulden't cancel the installation of the driver. The driver didn't installed.
So i pressed the power button to shutdown/open again and now windows is freezing at the progres bar (the bar that is moving from left to right).
Only safe mode is working , but without networking.
My problem begin with the installation of the networking driver... that caused all my problems. If i use system restore to UNDO the installation is working , but still with no network connections...
Any suggestions ? thanks
Edit: it uses the Atheros L1 GIGABIT Ethernet Controller driverhave you tried re downloading their drivers? Also do you have a spare network card that you can swap out? Are there any other devices in Device Manager that show up under unknown devices or that have a yellow exclamation on them?Start again. Format, Install Windows, then install the chipset driver first and then you can install the other drivers.I managed to install the lan driver, i was TRYING to install lan driver before chipset thats why it didnt work.SO i installed all my driver programs , everything was fine until i shutdown the notebook. So next time BOOM ... same problem , windows fail to load its stuck on progress bar that moves 1mm per hour..
