Answer» Was wondering if a Windows Server 2000 running Terminal Services for RDP support through a PORT forward to this system in my ROUTER for port 3389 is secure enough or if I should build up a SSH Tunnel and then RDP through the SSH Tunnel?
Is RDP encrypted and secure or should SSH be added to eliminate a monkey in the middle from reading the logon info keystrokes passed to the remote systems between sites through the internet?
ThanksGood Morning,
Microsoft has released NEW updates for RDP. I have configure several Terminal server and we never had any ISSUES is regards to hacker breaking into the system. What I suggest is to secure your group policy and make sure your user password lock after 3 tries or eliminate them to Log onto the server after a certain time. Normally I set the user to Log onto the TS from 5AM till 10AM. This reduce hacking issues. Thanks!
I verified that I have the latest RDP for 2000 and XP systems and RDC for Vista machines. So I should be good. I also will implement that policy to shut it off on off hours, thats a great idea.
